Ridesharing Services

Valley Regional Transit offers a variety of ridesharing services. These transportation services provide transportation supports throughout Ada County and Canyon County. These services are provided through a variety of community partners and are expected to continue to grow in the future.

The information below provides a snapshot of some of the region's largest ridesharing transportation services. For more information of questions about eligibility, please call 208-345-RIDE (7433).

 

 

Lyft logo

VRT Late Night

VRT Late Night is a program for low-income job access that operates during the hours ValleyRide buses are not running. In partnership with Lyft, Valley Regional Transit will offer $3 Lyft rides to and from work for qualified riders.
Steps to take if you are a new rider:
1). Register rider through Valley Regional Transit
2). Provide VRT with rider's cell phone number
3). Download Lyft app and create Lyft account
4). Get approval from VRT to ride
5). Lyft activates promo code in the rider's phone
6). Take a ride

Populations served: Low-income workers
Hours of operation: 9 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Sunday
Fare: $3 per trip (VRT will pay up to $15 of the ride cost)

Volunteer Driver

Our Volunteer Driver program operates in both Ada and Canyon counties and rides can be requested for anytime 24/7. Call Rideline customer service at 208-345-7433 to schedule a ride.

Hours of operation: Rides may be requested at any time but are subject to the availability of drivers

 

 

 

Metro Community Services

Our partners at Metro Community Services offer free trips in Canyon County. Call 208-459-0063 to reserve your seat, or log into www.metrocommunityservices.net/

Populations served: Seniors and persons with disabilities
Hours of operation: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays 

 

 

Shared Vehicle program

Our Shared Vehicle program is for non-profit 503(c) 3 agencies that have available drivers and and need the use of 12-15 passenger fleet vans. Drivers must be vetted and agencies are responsible for fueling the vehicle. Call Rideline customer service at 208-345-7433 to find out more about the Shared Vehicle program.

SHIP Partnership

Our partnership with SHIP (Supportive Housing and Innovative Partnerships) offers free trips in Boise. Garden City, Eagle and Meridian. Call 208-573-2584 to reserve your seat, or login to www.shipinc.org

Populations served: Seniors, persons with disabilities, veterans
Hours of operation: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays
Reservations will be accepted from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.

 

 

Rides2Wellness

Rides2Wellness is for patients of St. Luke's or St. Alphonsus who have been diagnosed with congestive heart failure, diabetes, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Call Help Desk customer service at 208-345-7433 to find out if you are eligible for this free service.

Population served: Patients accessing select St. Luke's and St. Alphonsus facilities
Hours of operation: 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays

Our partners at Harvest Transit offer free trips in Meridian. The hours of service are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Call 208-343-4414 to reserve your seat or log on to www.harvestransit.com

Village Van

Our Village Van program is for low-income and Refugee Job Access operating in Ada County seven days a week. Participation requires an agency sponsorship. Call Rideline customer service at 208-345-7433 for more information. The fare is $1.50 each way.

Hours of operation: Service hours and employers served varies depending on established partnerships

 

 

CanyonRide

The CanyonRide Commuter Van program is operated by Rideshare by Enterprise. Whether you have five people, or 15, Enterprise Rideshare allows you to choose the vehicle that best fits your vanpool needs from minivans to crossover SUVs, to luxury seat large vans. Enterprise's Rideshare Division is supported by the extensive Enterprise Rent-A-Car neighborhood network of more than 5,500 rental offices nationwide.
