It has been quite an adventure (and a lot of work) to update our Valley Regional Transit (VRT) website. We went live with the new site on Monday, October 2. It was an online project that was long overdue. I would like to explain why we undertook this consolidation/redesign:
- We consolidated four of our websites into one website. We hope this will greatly reduce any confusion about Valley Regional Transit and the various transportation services that we provide. People often confuse "ValleyRide" (our bus transit services) with "Valley Regional Transit," the regional public transportation authority for Ada County and Canyon County. We believe that housing all this information on the Valley Regional Transit website will provide a better understanding of VRT and its various operations and responsibilities.
- Our websites that will go away - valleyride.org, rideline.org, and gorideidaho.org - have been online for years and there was a real need to review and condense the content on the website - a fall cleaning you might say.
- We wanted to improve accessibility and provide alternative language options for viewing the website.
- It will provide better access to information about some exciting planning projects VRT is working on, including Valleyconnect 2.0.
We would love to hear from you regarding the consolidation/redesign. We fully expect to make some tweaks to the website based on public input as we finalize the design and content. You can use our feedback form to let us know what you think.
