Starting on Monday the August 31st outbound route 7s will be on a new detour. Following stops will be closed TFN: ID and 13th, ID and 15th, Main and 17th, Main and 24th, Main and 27th, Fairview and Orchard. There will be a temp stop placed on the far-side of Fairview and Orchard.

Route 40 - Starting Monday 8/31 - Leaving Downtown Boise to Caldwell will be on detour. Following stops will be closed: Idaho / 13th & Idaho / 27th
Due to road construction, Route 16 will be on detour August 18 - September 25. A temporary stop will be placed on Garrison across from Elks Lane.
The stop on Latah and Alpine towards MSS is closed for construction and temp stop placed near side.
Route 28 is on small detour at Frank Church High School; the bus will be taking right onto Salt Creek from Pro Tech, servicing the temp stop on Salt Creek, and then taking a right on Trabuco back to regular route.
Outbound route 7 and 8 are on new detour. No stops will be missed.
Route 9 OB stop at State and Ellen's Ferry closed. No temp stop placed.
Route 16: Stops on 1st & Idaho and 1st & Bannock will be closed. Please use the bus stop on Main & 1st.

VRT also offers ACCESS, a paratransit service, for users who are unable to use the fixed route service.
Ready to board? VRT buses have two machines for fare payment – fareboxes and Umo readers, both located at the front of the bus.
Pay with cash or purchase a one-way or all-day pass. Don’t have exact change? The farebox will issue a change card that can be used for future trips. Note: fareboxes do not accept debit or credit cards.
Create and load your with the Umo Mobility App or Umo Card. You can purchase passes or load value – you’ll never pay more than you need to with Umo’s fare capping feature!
Purchase a pass or load value in the Umo Mobility app. Both local and universal fares are available for youth and adult riders.
To pay with the app, open the QR code in the wallet section of the app and hold the code in front of the Umo scanner until it briefly flashes green.
Exact change is best. Overpayment is given on a change card. Change cards can be used like a Stored Value Card on board.

Don’t want to use your phone to pay? No problem. Simply request a Umo Card at a Valley Regional Transit customer service window (see locations), load it through the Umo Passenger Portal, and pay for rides with a tap. Learn more on the City Go website.

Save money with a preloaded card to use for onboard fares and passes. Stored value cards can be purchased at VRT Stations and Offices and other pass retailers. Get a $13.50 value card for $10 dollars, or a $27 value card for $20.

Umo Mobility App
Passes can be purchased in advance to ride fixed-route and on-demand buses. Transit passes are non-refundable and non-transferable. Standard passes are good for all bus routes and VRT On-Demand service except Route 40, which requires a regional fare. Regional passes are good for all bus services. All passes (except for the one-year pass) will expire one year from the day of purchase if not used. Once activated, day passes will expire by midnight that day, and the month passes will expire 31 days after activation.
You can use a credit/debit card to make pass purchases at Main Street Station, the Happy Day Transit Center, and the Valley Regional Transit administrative offices in downtown Meridian. Cash is only accepted at the VRT administrative offices in Meridian. Please note that Customer Service staff in Meridian cannot provide change.
Ride any bus, all day long. Choose an all-day pass if you plan to transfer to another route, or ride more than one bus within a day.

There’s a lot of complexity in running a public transit system, but we try to simplify the travel experience as much as possible while we get you from point A to point B. Here are a few things riders should know about how fares can be paid at each location.
Riders pay for their fare at a fare box upon entering the bus. Insert your cash or change in the top of the machine and tell the driver what type of fare or pass you’d like to purchase—a one-way ride or an all-day pass. If you don’t know, ask!
Exact change is best. Our machines don’t give change. They dispense a change card in the amount of the remaining total. Change cards can be used like a Stored Value Card on board.
Make sure to tell your driver if you qualify for discounted fare or you need a Universal pass. See which routes require universal fare (certain routes going between Ada and Canyon counties).
