Valley Regional Transit Launches ‘VRT Extra Hours’ for Holiday Evening Weekend Service

Valley Regional Transit (VRT) is excited to announce the launch of Extra Hours, a late-night weekend service designed to make traveling safer and more convenient during the holiday season. Starting Friday, November 29th, and running through Saturday, December 28th, VRT will extend service hours on four key routes (3, 7, 9, and 17) on Friday and Saturday nights.

“Late night and weekend service are requests we often get from riders, and we’re excited to test it out this holiday season,” said VRT’s CEO, Elaine Clegg. “Whether you’re looking to get home after a late shift at work, meeting up with friends, or traveling safely home after a night out, VRT Extra Hours offers a stress-free, safe option during the busy holiday season.”

The extended service provides access to popular destinations, such as downtown Boise, Towne Square Mall, Idaho Botanical Gardens, and beyond, during times of high demand when VRT doesn’t currently offer bus service. Park & Ride lots are also available along the routes.

VRT Extra Hours Details:
  • Dates: November 29, 2024 – December 28, 2024
  • Days: Fridays and Saturdays
  • Routes: 3 Vista, 7 Fairview, 9 State Street, 17 Warm Springs/Parkcenter

  • Hours: Routes 3, 7, and 9 past midnight; Route 17 past 10 PM
