Meridian Medical Transportation

Free medical transportation for Meridian residents

The information below is for City of Meridian Medical Transportation services. This service is separate from the Ada County Rides2Wellness service, as it is open only to Meridian residents, and provides transportation to any medical facility in Ada County that is not currently part of the clinics on the approved list for Rides2Wellness.

For many Meridian residents, it can be difficult to find rides to medical appointments. The City of Meridian Medical Transportation service helps address this need in the community. City of Meridian Medical Transportation helps you get to your medical appointments by providing free transportation. This program will pick you up from your home and drop you off at your medical appointment; and provide a return trip from your medical appointment back home.

This service is not a taxi or limousine; it is a curb-to-curb shared-ride system that takes multiple passengers to different medical appointments. The City of Meridian Medical Transportation service is provided by various transportation providers in the community. Valley Regional Transit will schedule your ride with an available provider.

City of Meridian Medical Transportation trips are only from your home address to a medical appointment and from a medical appointment back to your home address. The service operates Monday through Friday, 7 am to 6 pm. Rides must be booked at least two (2) business days in advance to your appointment. Rides can be scheduled no more than 14 days in advance. Make sure to schedule your return ride, if one is needed; return rides cannot be scheduled earlier than thirty (30) minutes from the approximate drop-off time.

Valley Regional Transit reserves the right to confirm an address for a medical facility and verify business hours.

When booking your trip, please provide exact addresses for pick-up and drop-off locations. A driver will pick you up at your home address and take you to your medical destination. You will be given a pick-up time window that the driver can arrive within. Passengers should be ready one hour before the scheduled drop off time. The provider will call the night before to confirm pick up time.  Please ensure you are ready, as the driver will wait only five minutes upon arrival.

YOU QUALIFY FOR City of Meridian Medical Transportation, IF:

  • You live in Meridian
  • Your appointment is at least two (2) business days after you call to schedule your appointment
